Health Links
Health Links are long-term partnerships between UK health institutions and their counterparts in developing countries. Links aim to improve health services in developing countries through the reciprocal exchange of skills, knowledge and experience between partners in the UK and those overseas. Health Link of the Month
Southern Ethiopia – Gwent Health Link - Through support from THET and funding from the Christadelphian Meal-A-Day Fund motorbike ambulances have been delivered to three rural health centre in Southern Ethiopia, as well as the provision of training in its use and maintenance. This is the first time in Ethiopia that a motorbike ambulance has been introduced, and it has already made a huge difference, enabling the transport of critically ill pregnant mothers and other patients to life-saving healthcare facilities. This project forms part of a larger long-term programme providing support to healthcare facilities. For more information please visit their website at www.ethiopiagwentlink.org.
Each month, THET will promote one Health Link both on our website and in our monthly e-bulletin. If you would like to be selected as a THET Health Link of the Month, simply send us an update on the impact your Link has had, or include a case study. If there is someone in particular you feel is making a real difference and you would like us to acknowledge his/her achievements, please send in your stories at info@thet.org.
