Funding

International Health Link Funding Scheme (IHLFS) - The IHLFS is a 3-year scheme that provides grants, information and support to Health Links. Funded by the UK Department for International Development (DfID) and the Department of Health (DH), it is jointly managed by THET and the British Council. The Scheme makes £1.25 million available to support the work of Health Links each year. The primary purpose of the Scheme is to build the capacity of developing country health services. - Toolkit on Monitoring and Evaluation for Health Links -Published in December 2008, this Monitoring and Evaluation toolkit is a high quality guide to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) specifically for Health Links partners in developing countries and in the UK. International Health Links Manual (2nd Edition) - This manual provides guidance, shares experiences and offers examples of good practice from those directly involved in Links. Its aim is to help both UK and Developing Country Link partners to think more strategically about their work. Risk and Security Guidelines - These guidelines provide UK Link partners with information, commonly-used terms and tools to assist in the development of their own risk management procedures for undertaking initiatives or managing trips overseas.
Publications about THET
- The Role of the Health Sector in Wider State-Building: A discussion paper – This paper explores the domains in which the health sector can help build capacity and legitimacy in fragile states. Guidelines on Visa Applications – Notes on the visa application procedures for overseas Links planning to visit the UK.
The network BUILD have also put together guidance on the visa application process for members of linking organisations who visit the UK. This document, produced in collaboration with the UK Border Agency, can be downloaded here. -
Making Donations Overseas - Provides information for Links on what and how to ship donations to your Link developing country partner. THET has also worked with DHL to produce a factsheet on how to send shipments overseas with DHL.
