The Lancet interviews THET founder Prof. Eldryd Parry about his work with THET and his on-going commitment to global health.
The latest edition of medical journal The Lancet profiles THET founder Professor Eldryd Parry. Describing him as a 'visionary in global health', the article charts his achievements working in Africa to support healthcare in rural communities, founding the Tropical Health & Education Trust, and influencing key players at the highest level to improve healthcare in Africa and beyond. 'Whether it's through direct contact, or indirectly, his impact in global heath has been profound', states The Lancet.
Describing Prof. Parry's establishment of the global health organisation, THET, it highlights a key element of the organisation's work, that 'projects and programmes are designed to respond to local needs' in order to ensure that the work THET does is not prescriptive but responsive.
