Consolidating IT links
The link between Bolga Nurse Training College and the Faculty of Health and Social Care, UWE began in 2006. The orginal aims were to:
- Improve the practical training of nurse students at Bolga NTC
- Improve clinical supervision in the hospital
- Address mutual areas of concern within the hospital
- Support student nurses to work in the communities
Two visits by UWE staff have been made to Bolga NTC in Nov 2006 and 2007. Staff from Bolga NTC vsisted UWE in June 2007.
Current activities
The project is now beginning to examine specific ways of achieving the aims and is currently focussing on:
- Consolidating IT links
- Improving learning resource access
- Improving mentoring and preceptoring skills in Bolga NTC and hospital
- Developing protovols for student exchanges
- Working to develop a range of approaches to teaching and learning methods
