This partnership has existed informally since 1994 and was made formal in September 2000; under the guidance of the registered charity Partnerships in Health Information (Phi). The aim of the partnership is to encourage the free flow of health related knowledge between nations.
Common goals of the partnership:
- That health care practitioners of whatever profession and wherever based should have access to the most reliable and up to date knowledge
- That healthcare education; research; management and policy making should be supported by best available evidence and information
- That research and other valuable information generated in Uganda and in Kent; Surrey and Sussex should be made available to the world at large; using the best available technology.
