Thinn is a Burmese national who trained at University of Medicine 1 and subsequently at Rangoon General Hospital. She spent 16 years working in the UK within the NHS first as a Specialist Registrar in Clinical Biochemistry & Metabolic Medicine at Addenbrookes and then as a Consultant in Chemical Pathology at Sheffield Teaching Hospital.
Thinn returned to Myanmar in 2016 out of a desire to contribute to the development of Myanmar’s healthcare. She joined THET as Country Director in January 2017.

Having graduated Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc) in 2008 from University of Nursing, Yangon. May has more than ten years’ experience of nursing care in Myanmar healthcare system.
After working in the delivery of direct patient care in different specialties for nearly a decade, she led the HR development team of an international private hospital in her most recent job.
