Godwin has over 10 years of experience working for both the private sector and INGOs in Tanzania. His areas of expertise include human resources for health , health care financing policies, and social health protection. He has worked for Barclays, the charity SIKIKA and the German Development Cooperation. Currently, he collaborates with the Tanzanian Ministry of Health Working Group, which is responsible for the design of national health policies.
In particular, he provides advisory to the Ministry on matters pertaining health workers availability, recruitment, trainings and retention. He joined THET in May 2016 as Tanzania Country Director.
Tanzania Field Project Coordinator
Stephen Africa joined THET Tanzania in September 2019 as a Field Project Coordinator. Stephen has a Diploma in Clinical Medicine, a BSc. in Home Economics & Human Nutrition and a Masters of Public Health (MPH).
Stephen has extensive experience in health and nutrition project management, planning and providing guidance for implementation as well as monitoring and community mobilization for health interventions. Stephen has strong leadership and administrative skills related to project management.
Prior to joining THET, Stephen worked as Regional Coordinator with Mapambano ya Kifua Kikuu na UKIMWI Tanzania (MKUTA) based in Mwanza region, implementing community-based HIV/AIDS prevention and testing services to key and priority populations in partnership with ICAP. He has been involved in partnership building, liaising and collaboration with various stakeholders especially the government authorities at District, Regional and National level.
