THET is pleased to announce the launch of the first wave of Large Grants for UK Partnerships for Health Systems (UKPHS).
THET welcomes grant applications from Health Partnerships addressing the identified health priorities in the following four countries:

Funding Available and Application Details
Grants of up to £350,000 are available. All funded projects are expected to last between 24 and 30 months. Project activities will be implemented from May 2021 until October 2023.
Core Eligibility
All those considering applying should carefully read the eligibility and funding criteria contained in the Call for Applications and Q&A document as these may differ from previous THET grant streams.
This grants round will accept applications from both new and established partnerships but applicants should read carefully the guidelines around the differences in application process for the different partnership models.
All projects under this programme should respond to the health priorities identified in the Country Health Systems Priorities Documents. Projects with remits outside of these health priorities will not be considered.

A second webinar was held for those interested in setting up a new Health Partnership or formalising an informal relationship. This webinar explained the processes that institutions will have to go through in order to set up a Health Partnership, including partnership development, financial and project management, and identifying and mitigating risks. The Grant Application Form and Budget Template should be completed and submitted, along with letters of support from each of the lead partner institutions, any managing partners and a relevant representative from the implementing country Ministry of Health, in one email to grants@thet.org.
Established partnerships should fill out the established partnership application form and submit this by 23:59 on 21st December 2020.
New partnerships should fill out the new partnership application form and submit this by 23:59 on 15th January 2021.
Please note:
Uganda – Due to the limited internet access around election time in Uganda, letters of support will be accepted up until 23:59 on 22nd January 2021. If you are wishing to submit an application under the Call for Applications for Uganda and are experiencing difficulties due to the internet cutout, then please get in touch with THET.
Zambia – Due to sudden staffing changes at the Ministry of Health, we will accept late submissions of letters of support involving Ministry officials (where applicable).
