The Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET) is pleased to release two new calls for grant applications under the Global Capacity Building (GCB) programme, to support health partnerships between England and South Africa, Uganda, and Zambia. These funding opportunities released today complete the grants available under the GCB programme.

Grant applications are now open for up to three projects in South Africa, with £50,000 available per partnership. Applications are now open and will close on 10 November 2023. Please review our call documents for the project and respond to the two priorities identified in THET’s South Africa Scoping Report

We are also happy to announce the launch of our Small Grants programme which will support health partnerships between England and South Africa, Uganda, and Zambia. The Small Grants will fund up to £10,000 for partnership projects which focus on integrated themes of gender, diaspora engagement, wellbeing, technology, and planetary health. The deadline for Small Grant applications is 27 October 2023.

THET Chief Executive Officer, Ben Simms, said: “We strongly encourage both new and existing partnerships to apply for these exciting programmes that will drive impact through collaboration. The grants have tremendous potential to accelerate progress on shared priorities while strengthening health systems.”

To ensure your partnership is eligible and to learn more about how to apply, please review the call documents on the dedicated GCB website and sign up to our upcoming webinars
