One billion people will never see a qualified health worker in their life. We are working to change that by improving the quality and impact of the health workforce and the system within which it works. Your support enables us to train and educate health workers in Africa and Asia and build a healthier world for all.

Please note that THET’s Christmas Appeal will run from 1st December until 31st January and all donations made during this time will be restricted to THET’s work in Myanmar.

Whatever you decide to give, your donation matters.

In the past 30 years, THET has evolved from a small family-run NGO to a larger entity, with a presence in ten countries across across Africa and Asia, and a range of projects spanning from community health to biomedical engineering. Nonetheless, THET is still driven by our founder’s original vision and principles:

Our work should be responsive to local need and that if there is mutual trust and a willingness on both sides to learn from each other, then good work will happen.

This is the philosophy that the THET family is built on and one that we will continue to promote as we move forward.

One billion people around the world will never see a qualified health worker in their lives. We believe that everyone, wherever they are, has a right to health and envisage a world where everybody has access to affordable and quality healthcare

We are working to achieve this by training and educating health workers in low- and middle-income countries across Africa and Asia in partnership with volunteers from across the UK health community.

From reducing maternal deaths in Uganda to improving the quality of hospital care for injured children in Myanmar, we are strengthening local health systems to build a healthier future for all.

How you can support us

Without health workers there is no healthcare and millions of us would have nowhere to turn to.

Whether you decide to make a one-off donation or give a regular gift, we promise that the donation you make to THET today will be used to help train the next generation of qualified health workers in the communities where they are needed most.

A £55 donation could fund one day of training on emergency obstetric care for a nurse in Somaliland.

A £150 donation could fund a day of sexual and reproductive health training for health workers and teachers in rural Uganda.

Whatever you decide to give, your donation matters.
