Mr James Nwabineli

After obtaining membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Mr Nwabineli trained in urogynaecology in Newcastle Upon Tyne and in gynaecology in Glasgow. He was senior lecturer/consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Benin Medical School/Teaching Hospital, Nigeria before moving to the UK, where he is presently consultant in south Tyneside hospital. He holds the fellowship of both the West African College of Surgeons and The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, as well as a certificate in international health consultancy from the Liverpool Associates in Tropical Health (LATH). He was formerly a member of the Northern Deanery Speciality Training Committee, RCOG Clinical Director’s Forum, RCOG representative on the board of Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and head of his department. He is an examiner for the part 2 MRCOG and Chairman of the medical Missions Committee of the Medical Association of Nigerians across Great Britain. He is very keen on skills transfer to resource poor countries and works with the LSTM and diaspora organisations in the regard.
