Khem is a global health professional with key expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating Public Health Programs for more than 16 years in Nepal and abroad. He received MSc and PhD degrees in Global Health from The University of Tokyo, Japan. His primary areas of work comprise of Health System Strengthening, Global Burden of Disease Study, HIV, Nutrition, Mental Health, Digital Health, and Reproductive Health. Currently, Khem works as a Country representative for THET in Nepal.
Prior joining to THET, Khem worked as Research Adviser for USAID’s Fertility Awareness for Community Transformation (FACT) project under Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA and National Nutrition Coordinator for Multi-sector Nutrition Plan of Government of Nepal. Jack joined THET in October 2023. He graduated from The University of Edinburgh with a Master’s degree in Global Health Policy in 2022. His research centred around health systems strengthening and the role of gender in healthcare quality and deliverance. Prior to joining THET, Jack had been involved with a number of organisations and charitable start-ups. He has worked for the United Nations Association — UK and helped build a humanitarian crisis response mobile app.
In 2020, Jack successfully campaigned for equitable and accessible COVID-19 vaccine clinics in marginalized communities in the eastern United States. With a particular interest in equitable access to healthcare and the social construction of disease, Jack is passionate about building stronger and more inclusive health systems.
Before joining THET, Alex coordinated multi-year projects for children and young people with disabilities across four countries in sub-Saharan Africa. In a prior role, she led the UK arm of an international menstrual health charity as the UK Country Coordinator. She was a trustee for two years at an infrastructural organisation which supports, represents and connects over 2,000 members of staff working at small international development charities.
She has a Masters degree in International Development from the University of Birmingham, as part of which she researched inclusive education after emergencies in Nepal. She has valuable experience from living and working in India, Bangladesh and Uganda and is particularly passionate about local capacity building and promoting locally-led development.
Domagoj joined THET in July 2022 as Digital Marketing Officer. Prior to THET, Domagoj worked as a freelancer, developing engaging and powerful content for different organisations.
Over the years, Domagoj accrued a wide range of experience across social media management, video production and brand awareness. Through these experiences and skills, he has developed a unique sense of design and a belief that the best solutions are those that are both simple and powerful.
Domagoj obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the Faculty of Business and Economics in Zagreb and a bachelor’s degree in Public Law from the University of Law in Zagreb, Croatia.
Sawdah joined THET in October 2022. She holds a joint honours degree in History, Politics, and International Relations from Royal Holloway, University of London.
Prior to joining THET, Sawdah worked on various diversity and inclusion initiatives, both at policy level and within the educational context.
Sawdah’s passion lies in advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through informed policymaking, with a keen interest in leveraging research and data-driven strategies to foster meaningful organisational change.
Laura joined THET in October 2022. Prior to her role at THET, Laura has worked in philanthropy roles at two NGOs; Mercy Ships UK and The Sparkle Foundation. Laura graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2021 with a BA in International Development and is currently pursuing an online Master’s degree in Global Health Policy at the University of Edinburgh.
She has an interest in Global Health initiatives with a particular focus on the growing burden of Non-Communicable Diseases.
Jihoon joined THET in January 2020. He graduated from University College London, where he studied for an MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development in 2019. His studies focussed on WASH in LMICs and climate change adaptation, while his thesis was on incorporating gender inequality considerations into climate change adaptation in Bangladesh.
Previously, Jihoon undertook a research field trip with the Sierra Leone Urban Research Centre in Freetown to support communities in informal settlements in disaster risk management.
Vincent joined THET in December 2021 with over 10 years of solid experience in Programme development, budgeting, costing, co-ordination, implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation.
He has implemented, coordinated and managed programmes in the thematic areas of Child Protection, Gender Based Violence (GBV), Palliative Care (Cancer & HIV), Orthopedics, Refugees, Disaster Risk Reduction, Education, Agribusiness, Policy Advocacy as well as Construction & Procurement in Medical settings.
He has worked in Zambia under the Fredskorpset Norway Exchange Program and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration. He is also currently finalizing his Master’s in Social Sector Planning and Management from Makerere University.
Naomi joined THET in July 2020. She has worked, and lived, across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and East Europe in public health, climate change and humanitarian response. She brings a decade of experience in project management and monitoring and evaluation, working at NGOs including WWF, ACTED and Sightsavers, at the UNDP, and international development consulting company IPE Triple Line.
She has an MSc in Disasters, Adaptation and Development from King’s College London and a BA (Hons) in International Development and Sociology. She has a particular interest in technology for development.
Samatar started work in Somaliland as a volunteer with national youth organisations and then moved to the commercial sector, where he worked in Administration and Accountancy and afterwards joined THET in 2010. He graduated from the New Generation University in 2018 with a Master’s degree in Global Studies and International Relations. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Post-graduate Peace and Conflict Studies diploma from the University of Hargeisa.
Samatar is passionate about supporting humanitarian interventions with his operations experience in logistics, finance, human resources and security management and working closely with programme teams and country-level stakeholders.
Ethel has vast work experience in both profit and not for profit making organisations. She has expertise in finance, administration, human resources and project management.
Before joining THET, she worked for a humanitarian organisation (Concern Worldwide Zambia), supporting different projects, mainly in finance and administration. She also volunteered under the Youth Advocacy and Lobby Network Group.
Ethel Initially trained as an accountant and because of her interest in development-related issues, she went on to study for a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies and later pursued a Masters’s Degree in International Relations and Development from Mulungushi University.
